All right, relational leaders. Let me tell you a quick story about the difference between a 10% chance of success and a 95% chance. It’s not luck. It’s about Joyful Accountability. The American Society for Training and Development did a study that caught my attention. Here’s what they found: simply setting a goal gives you about a 10% chance of accomplishing it. Ten percent! Think about that. Most of us in sales, leadership, or entrepreneurship are great at writing down goals. We’ll say things like, “This is the year I’ll hit X revenue” or “This quarter I’ll finally finish that project.” But if all we do is set the goal, the odds are stacked against us. Now here’s where it gets fascinating. (Check out the video for more, or read on below...) That same study showed that if you share your goal with a group of people and then meet with that group weekly, you have a 95% chance of achieving it. That’s not a small bump. That’s a complete flip of the odds. That’s what I call Joyful Accountability. It’s not accountability in the old-school, harsh sense of the word. Nobody’s wagging a finger or shaming you for missing a step. Joyful accountability is when a group of people comes together, believes in you, sees your vision, and holds you capable of achieving it. There’s a big difference between being “held accountable” and being “held capable.” Let me give you a real example. Conner joined The Boardroom a couple of months ago. He had never put together a 12-week plan before, but he jumped in. He got clear on his vision. Just a few days ago, he texted me. He's absolutely crushing it. He’s already hit his stretch goals and is over the moon. Now, was there some complicated formula behind Conner’s success? Not at all. The recipe is simple: vision, planning, metrics, time allocation, and Joyful Accountability. Those are the Five Elements of Momentum I talk about all the time. And if I had to bet, I’d say the secret sauce for Conner wasn’t the plan itself. It was the people walking with him through it. Because here’s the truth: most of us don’t fail because we don’t know what to do. We fail because we try to do it alone. That’s why I want to encourage you today. Don’t just set a goal for Q4. Share it. Find a group of people who will meet with you weekly. People who will ask how it’s going. Who will listen when you hit roadblocks. Who will cheer you on when you make progress. Support them with their goals too. It’s amazing what happens when you get that flywheel of accountability spinning. We’ve got 13 weeks left in this year. That’s one more 12-week sprint with a bonus week to celebrate. So… what’s the big thing you want to accomplish before the calendar turns? What would it look like to finish 2025 strong? Here’s my challenge: don’t leave it at a 10% chance. Put Joyful Accountability in place and watch those odds flip in your favor. And if you’re wondering where to start, let me know. I’d love to help you find that kind of group. If you’re interested in The Boardroom, reply to this email and we can schedule a quick call. No pressure, just a conversation about whether it’s the right fit to help you accomplish what matters most. Think big. Think strong. Execute well. Let’s finish this year the right way. Appreciate you, PS. Conner’s story isn’t unique. I’ve seen it again and again. If you’ve got a goal that feels too big to tackle alone, let’s talk about it. You don’t need another plan. You need people who believe in you. Whenever you're ready, there are 2 ways I can help you:

Hey there, relational leaders. I want to share a quick story about one of my coaching clients. Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re a small business owner or a commission-based professional. And like many of us, the relationships that lead to referrals — the kind that drive your results — really matter to you. It’s not always easy. That’s why I like to share real success stories from clients who are doing it well. This one’s about a client named Ben. Ben’s in the mortgage industry, and...
Hard to believe we’ve stepped into Q4 of 2025 already. The year’s flown by, hasn’t it? Just the other day, I was with the Boardroom, a group of relational leaders and small business owners who are all busy building their version of special. We spent time debriefing the past quarter, and something powerful rose to the surface—how much execution improves when joyful accountability is in the mix. Now, you’ve probably heard this stat before, but it bears repeating. The American Institute of...
Most business owners think they need more leads. But what they really need is more referrals. And referrals flow out of relationships. That’s where gratitude comes in. Let me tell you about Dan. Dan’s part of The Boardroom, and not long ago, he shared a story that stopped us in our tracks. He had been looking for ways to grow his business. Like most entrepreneurs, he thought about prospecting, marketing, and getting his message out. But instead of doubling down on “selling, selling, selling,”...
